Size Matters

Amongst the millions of Inquisiq users, several create their own lessons using a variety of authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, etc.).  Most of time, they simply upload these lessons (SCORM packages) into the LMS, and then import them to automatically create a course.  For extremely large SCORM packages (200MB or more), Inquisiq has a “Fetch” feature that allows a server to server transfer.  However, just because you can upload a large SCORM package, doesn’t mean that you should.  Here’s why.

Posted by Brian Kleeman on Nov 17, 2014 3:06:22 PM

In our last post we covered the basics to selecting and finding the right Authoring Tool for you and your organization’s training development.  Now we dive into the WHY.  Why is it beneficial to have a tool outside of your LMS as opposed to having one within the LMS? We are going to provide some “food for thought” on why having an Authoring Tool outside of your LMS could be the smartest thing you do for your present and long range eLearning success.

What is an Authoring Tool?

Posted by Brian Kleeman on Oct 30, 2014 10:20:25 AM

An eLearning authoring tool is a software package with which you can develop, create and package eLearning content so it is deliverable to end users.  Many programs can be considered authoring tools, including Flash and PowerPoint.  However, only a specific group of programs include support for eLearning content standards such as SCORM (Shareable Content Object Reference Model).  Some examples of these programs (but not all) include: Articulate Storyline and Studio, Composica, Captivate, Lectora and Camtasia.

SCORM Expertise

Posted by Brian Kleeman on Dec 10, 2012 2:02:12 PM

Unlike some learning management system products that integrate third-party engines and APIs, our Inquisiq LMS has been developed in-house. Our own application gurus built the SCORM engine and the rest of the features and functionality surrounding that core – nothing has been outsourced. As a result, our application developers have become SCORM experts . We know the spec, cold.

What Our Customers are Saying

Posted by Ed Gipple on Sep 11, 2012 9:39:50 AM

While we get fairly frequent direct emails from our customers on their satisfaction with the our learning management system, they are frequently pretty brief and sent without expectation they’ll be made public.

So we’ve setup an Inquisiq review site to provide a public venue for customers to post a review of our LMS. Here are a few highlights:

  • We investigated 13 other LMS vendors before choosing Inquisiq R3 - I have ZERO regrets about our decision.
  • Some companies will try and sell you on those big systems and several weeks deployment - that's crazy! You can deploy this with 1-2 employees for 10,000+ users in 2 weeks.
  • Stable SCORM implementation. Superior logical design and physical system implementation. Intuitive interface. Very high value for every fee dollar.

Unique LMS Requirements for Online Training Providers

Posted by Ed Gipple on Aug 23, 2012 11:59:29 AM

Training Providers, as an industry distinguished from more formalized, corporate training providers, can have unique requirements for LMS functionality - both from the perspective of marketing, administration, and target audience:

  • As a content expert with a wide range of user demographics, an easy-to-use, ‘friendly’ system for implementing your training program is critical.
  • Changes in the eLearning subject-matter is continuously evolving, requiring a smart solution to allow recurring assessments, updated content, and certifications.
  • Lack of experience selling or promoting eLearning courseware is limiting growth.
  • The delivery system must scale with your company as it grows.
  • Limited availability of knowledgeable trainers is limiting your potential.
  • Personnel limitations with HR and/or IT staff is preventing growth.
  • Environmental resources may not allow for internal systems.

The Inquisiq learning management system allows training providers to overcome these challenges.
